Bloggydoggyversary

Today is the two year anniversary of my blog and the one year anniversary of the death of my much missed dog, Willow.
I don't know whether to celebrate or cry.
The weather is suitably weary and dull as is my mood.
However I have more bright things to show which should cheer us all up.

I put the squares I showed you in the last post onto a cuff.

The Liberty lining is a very good match in colour if not in theme.

I had a bit of a job with this since I lost my very best scissors but thankfully a replacement pair arrived in the post this morning.

If you read one of my very early posts you will wonder that I would need any more but the pinky purply daisy in a lower picture definitely needs the attention only these can give.

Denim is tough stuff and I haven't worked with it much since then.

Last night instead of watching Gordon apologize I did more sewing.
I moved onto the felt in a colour called, I think, pale jade.
I love it. It works so well with pinks and other greens in fact it gave me a funny childhood memory feeling that I couldn't quite place.

Its slightly softer and paler than in my photographs but who knows how you are viewing it?
This big monitor I am using since the demise of my laptop is altogther paler .

Maybe it was because it was past my bedtime I made a couple of weird ones.

Should I continue with them do you think?

All this sewing and the lack of the laptop has me waaaayy behind on catching up with your lovely blogs. It has turned me into one of those people I criticized last year for receiving comments and not returning them.
I love your comments and am very grateful to everyone who takes time to leave one.

Like Gordon, I'm sorry.
Only I really mean it.

I can't believe it's been a whole year since you lost your Willow. I know this is a difficult anniversary for you. You'll be in my thoughts today.

Poor Gordon. He really put his foot in it, didn't he?

Well congratulations on your blog anniversary and sorry about your dog but it will get easier I know having lost several pets at different times.

I love weird if that is what they are - they are so unique and the colours are perfect. Keep making and if you ever find you have too many I know of a good home for any spares!!

Much more interesting than watching Gordon I'd say and much more productive.

Love the colour of these! I can hardly believe it's already 2 years since you started blogging and a year since you sadly lost Willow. I still love seeing all you make...hope the sewing will lift your spirits. Best wishes,

Sorry about Willow Jackie, I hadn't come across your blog back then, but it's so awful to lose a much loved companion. I still think about my dog Heidi often, but always the good times we shared, and the happy life she had.
I love the pale jade pieces you have made - really lovely!
... and isn't it getting all a bit political over here? Poor old Gordon - it's a shame we can't listen in to what they all say when they think they can't be overheard!
Best wishes
Dan

The pale jade is showing up on my monitor as the colour of the sea around the Island of Iona.....my favourite shade of turquoise : )
Funnily enough I made a cuff today with a piece of fabric made a few weeks ago and there wasn't enough to make two. I thought about chopping the rest into squares and using it that way.....great minds eh : )All my stuff is now installed at the studio and I don't know what to do with myself now that I am at home and all my stash and machines are not. I feel almost insecure!
I can't believe it's been a whole year since Willow passed. Thinking of you. xxx

Take care Jackie

Congrats on your 2nd blogiversary and condolences for dear Willow. The denim cuff is very smart and the pale jade and other pieces are gorgeous. The weird ones are great - if you'd watched Gordon they might never have been made!

Willow is such a beautiful name. I think it's great that you took some of your sadness and started something positive like this blog!!

I lost my Mom two years ago and I that pale jade color was her favorite. Every time I see it, it reminds me of her.

So, I cannot wait for you to put them in your shop. I gave away the other two I've purchased already to very worthy and wonderfully happy people! xo susan

Doesn't a year go quickly? Does that mean I am getting old? Poor Willow, poor you, no wonder it rained today. x

Congratulations on your blog anniversary and so sorry about your dog, he must be greatly missed.
I love your work, the cuff is wonderful and that pale jade felt is super. Even the 'wierd' ones look great, good to see different coloyr combinations.

I think I must have discovered your blog pretty much at the beginning. I'm so sorry about your Willow - I'm sure you will miss him forever but time will help. Your latest pieces (that don't look the least bit weird!) are gorgeous and came up on my screen in bright technicolour. Love them!

Oh, there is just nothing like a beloved dog. They stay with us forever...

Love how the color brings out the echo of a childhood memory - like the smell of an attic or a particular meal, perhaps.

And politicians ~ well, I can't decide if I'd like to know more of what they really think and say - or *not.* I do wish they were more honest - but not so mean-spirited.

Love your work :-)

I love the cuff the contrast with the velvet and the denim is fabulous and then to see the Libert is just beyond amazing series of contrasts!!!! It is so very wrenchig to loose our pets. I hope taht your weather brightens and you can get out and enjoy the springtime!!
Hugs!

Congratulations on making it through 2 blogging years and surviving one without your Willow. Still not quite ready for another pup? I don't blame you. I hope you do get another one someday though. Remember the joy and put the pain behind you. Easy to say, that is what I try to do.
I totally love the things you create, they are so uniquely yours. The colors are scrumptious.

Congrats on the blogaversary-who would have believed that sitting in front of a computer could be so much fun and allow us such friendships that it does.
Love the colours thatyou have used.

Hahahah...I've been following the debates and YOUR political circus (for a change!)with great interest.

...I was wondering what you were going to make with those little squares...very pretty!!

...and I like what you design when you're tired. Have you ever made any while drinking? Erm...I guess not...too dangerous! Giggle.

politics, shmottitics I say. I am avoiding tv and enjoying the sunshine instead. Anniversaries are too sad, even though I have Kizzie I still think about my beautiful Katydog. A question for you, what are the scissors?

two years!! you must be geeting old! Hello from a contemporary pad with a balcony in the heart of crouch end. sore feet and a pathetic bank balance are the order of the day here but back up north will be exciting with tons of new fabric, trimmings, ribbons and cath kidston home accessories, perhaps we can eat the new side plates!!

sorry about the collision of anniversaries and the loss of your dog!

I wonder if that pale green reminds you of some kind of synthetic food that we could mindlessly eat without fear of additives, etc. as kids? Like Trix, or something? Or a weird paste in school? Anyway, the colors are very pretty and the weird ones are fun -- remind me more of amoebae than some of your others.

Thinking of you on this sad anniversary.

Your colours have got my mind hopping. I'm going down stairs to try out some new combinations with gems.

More wonderful juicy colours Jackie! - and sympathy for your anniversary of Willow - they're such good mates and we're bound to miss them when they're gone. My sister lost her dog just before Christmas, but to celebrate his life, she has planted masses of seeds in her garden - which wouldn't have last five minutes while he was around!

I am keeping you in my thoughts right now. A sad anniversary for you. I know Willow was a very special dog and a much loved member of your family.

Thanks for signing up to my blog. You are obviously one of those creative types who can do things far, far from my own skills-base! I can only admire. I wonder if Gordon can do these things? He may need to be looking for an alternative career ...
