This has been an extraordinary week for me and my family.
We have shed many tears and guess what? I lost three pounds. Not such a good way to lose it.
We have been very sad, but I have felt supported and cared for by your lovely, lovely messages and e mails and for that I am extremely grateful.
Thank you.
From now on I will be doing my maundering on about Willow on my other blog.
I started it a while ago to practice different things I wanted to do , such as upload video, change templates and so on so its a bit of a mess really.
Its the ideal place to write posts to help me remember my gentle companion. I don't mind if no one ever reads it, it will help. I'll write sadnesses and joys, stories of good and bad behaviour and keep her living over there for as long as I need to.
Thank you all again.
I really mean it. Answering your comments where I could(sorry if I didn't get to you) was perfect therapy.
Now moving forward here.
I have finished a whole lot of yummy*little brooches and I am going to have a giveaway of 5 of them BUT there will be something else, I think a piece of work for mounting, in the giveaway which I haven't made yet, so hold yer horses ...I'll have an actual 'blog anniversary leave your comments to enter the draw' post in a few days.
Meanwhile, see which one you would fancy if you won.
Please notice the light in these pictures. For months I have struggled to get a decent picture but now May is here they just glow with light.
A cautionary tale now.
Last night I was encouraging a flickr contact to start a blog and saying I would help if he got stuck, when my blog completely disappeared.
Yes! Vanished.
All that was there was an error message. I did a bit of googling and went to the help forum and the solution was easy to follow BUT it required going to the dashboard..which, of course, I couldn't as it had disappeared. Thankfully I have my other blog so I could google that to get to the dashboard.
If I'd only had one blog I would not be here now.
Maybe that wouldn't be the end of the world for you..but for a moment there.....last night..I panicked.
*I thought I'd try a bit of 'own trumpet, blowing of ' here.
It seems to be a requirement on some blogs.
(Not yours of course, dear readers)

Phew jackie glad you managed to find your way back to us.
look forward to commenting on your blog anniversary,
take care and have a good weekend.
Love the photo of Willow on your side bar - there's a wealth of understanding and intelligence in that face.
Your brooches are so cool!
Glad we didn't lose you altogether. Your brooches are all lovely - it would be hard to choose one, but the royal blue caught my eye. I would have to get my daughter to set me up a new blog if mine disappeared. I don't do 'computer speak' so the helpline wouldn't be much good to me. Beautiful photo of Willow.
Very pretty brooches Jackie. I'm glad you got your blog back. I started to save mine a day at a time in Word but I haven't got very far.
Hope you have a good rest of weekend.
blogs are great....or rather the people you 'meet' are anyway.
It amazes me when I think of how many large and small ways they enrich our lives.
weird maybe!!
Glad you're feeling ok-ish..losing someone you love, who you have shared history with (whether human or otherwise) is so hard.
and ALL the brooches look gorgeous so I'm sure the winners won't complain!

I love the photo of Willow on the side bar. What incredible eyes she had. I teared up when I saw her there looking back.... All of your brooches are wonderful. Have a great weekend.
Nice to see you back, have looked for you each day. Love the "Best Dog Ever" epitaph. Beautiful. Lovely brooches, wonderful colours: I particularly like the pink one with the yellow centre. Scary about the blog disappearing. I would have panicked!!x
Your big photograph of your dear Willow is the first thing I saw today when I traveled here from your other blog. What a lovely dog she was! I'm so sorry that you are hurting.
Your brooches are totally gorgeous!! I love all their vibrancy!!
Hugs
Jane
It's lovely to 'see' you again Jackie. I've been thinking about you all, all week.
Congratulations on your blogoversary - here's to many more posts. I just want to say even though I would love one of your brooches, please don't put my name in the hat for the giveaway. I still have giveaway guilt from winning too many, and feel I should have a couple more myself before I start entering other people's again.
Take care. x
I just love these cookie brooches---the icing and sprinkles are perfect :} One would go really nice with the rectangular one i have from you!
That photo of Willow is a lovely tribute, such sweet soulful eyes. I hope each day is getting a bit easier, although I am sure it is still very difficult.
The brooches are beautiful, (I'd adore anyone of them!) So happy to hear that you were able to save your blog... (that would have freaked me out to come looking for you and find your blog was gone). xo
So sorry to hear about your dog-the good memories you have will keep Willow alive in your heart.
I have been thinking of you so much and hope you are having a restful, peaceful weekend. I look forward to visiting your other blog, and am so glad you retrieved this one from the ether!!
Best thoughts and love your way!
Giveaway Guilt!!! Wow! If only.....
I'm so glad to see you back and I'm looking forward to reading your other blog.I love that photo of Willow, so intelligent, knowing..
BlogWorld is a very odd place, Bethan phoned me a couple of nights ago to tell me my little MiniMe (the gadget that shows how much walking/running I'm doing) was, wait for it....topless!!! Yes, she said I was jogging up and down without my top on!! on my blg!!!I logged on and everything was fine, there I was smiling sweetly and fully clothed. MAkes you think what goes on when we all go to sleep!!
Take Care Jackie.
Glorious box of brooches! I would love to set them in the box and hang the whole thing on the wall as an assemblage. Hmmm...that would be a feast for the eyes!
Hope you are doing better each day Jackie.
can't imagine losing my blog! love the brooches, still sending (((hugs))))
You are being very brave. I do like the look of those brooches - I love the strong contrasts, fushia/mustard, purple/gold. (Now paranoid that I am guilty of vulgar trumpet blowing!)
I'd have really missed your blog had it disappeared. Love the new brooches.
I've been very busy with the teabag paper and sold lots of the boat cards plus sent out a load to a new outlet here in Scotland. Going to show my daughter how to tie dye it this week which should be fun : )
Trumpet away (!) They're so vibrant and colourful - fabulous. As ever, the beautiful shapes of viruses pop into my head.
Goodness though, I'm so glad you're still here x

You're brooches are just gorgeous.

So pleased to see you back! l think the band should have been invited not just a trumpet! after such a horrible week, for you all, you did well to sign on to this fab blog let alone retrieve it from space!so glad you managed it.Keep your chin up xx
So sorry to hear about willow...I hope it gets better as time goes on, although for us the only cure was to fill that hole with another baby....this house is too empty with no cats in it!
The brooches are awesome...hope they sell like hotcakes for you!
No Dog-Daisy Chains,what a dreadful thought !
Oh my gosh, how can a blog just disappear?? I wouldn't know where to start getting it back again!! Glad you made it!
Your brooches look gorgeous and so vibrant. It would be lovely to own one! Good luck with your blogaversary draw
I followed your link to your other blog and left you a message there ... I won't go on, but I have a shed a tear or two reading your blog this week! Hope you can smile again soon!! Carolyn
oh, jackie, my heart is breaking for you and your family! heartfelt hugs coming your way. for those who say, it is only a dog, i feel they have missed out on one of the very best treasures in life which is the unconditional love you receive grom a dog. my min schnauzer presley is 16 and we count our blessings every day that he is still with us.
take care and god bless!
So glad your blog is back in the ether. That would have been awful. Beautiful brooches - you have been busy! Glad you're feeling a bit better. Love M.
nothing wrong with blowing that trumpet! I say go for it!
and I am so very sorry for your loss.x
Oh Jackie - what a glorious box of yumminess! I'd love to own any one of them!
I've just been showing my mum your blog (so glad it was still there!) We went to 'Yarn' yesterday and I told mum and the owner about you. She knows your friends who live nearby. Mum was in raptures over the photos of your work.
Hope you're feeling a little better as each day goes by.
Big hug
Linda XX
Hi Jackie,
Your brooches look so beautiful together.
Glad you got your blog back!
Michala x
I am so sorry about Willow, I'm so glad to have seen photos her. I have 2 dogs and can understand the deep love and connection one can feel with a pet. And though your posts have made me sad for you, your embroidery makes me happy. It is beautiful and full of such wonderful colors, I love it.
It's not trumpet blowing, it's what the Victorians used to call "proper pride", where you are allowed to be proud of your own skills. They are gorgeous brooches, be very proud! Or are you by any chance of Scottish extraction? It's a common joke amongst Scots of a certain age (of which I am one) that the 11th Scottish Commandment is "Thou shalt not get above thyself"
Christine
I love your picture of Willow on the sidebar. What a great dog she must have been.
Your brooches are beautiful and I hope anyone lucky enough to recieve one will wear it in rememberance of Willow.
I hope in time your grief will be lessened by your beautiful needle art.
So sorry about Willow, hope it gets a little easier to bear with time x
I love your felted bits with velvet they are scrumptious ... would love to have a chance at winning one .. and happy blog anniversary.
Sandy
