200 pieces

I've managed to resist the lure of the blog for two whole days, but I have not been idle.

When the ironing has been there so long it needs dusting, its time to give in and do it, so I did.

Then I turned a collar on my husband's favourite shirt so he can still wear it, and then I made piles and piles of silk paper, with a little hindrance from my friend.

Just out of interest I counted the pieces.

There were exactly 200, and this, stitched on one of the 200, is going to be my 200th picture on Flickr.

I've been working on pieces with a Fifties theme lately inspired by Woolly Fabulous.

Those papers look so lovely all together. I'm getting itchy fingers just looking at them, but I have too much else to finish before I start a new project.

I know what you mean about ironing, I just always seem to have something better to do. The washing is OK cuz it does itself once the machine is loaded. Oh well. My mum is babysitting tonight so you never know.... hehe

Those black lines really make the design pop. And you should be pleased with yourself, it's a beautiful piece!

How disciplined you are to make so many pieces without drying one off and running away to stitch it... (hairdryer, anyone?)

Again, you made with laugh out loud with the ironing comment ~ so true! The papers look good enough to eat and the embroidery is too beautiful for words.

I just love the silk papers! I have never seen anything like it before! Where if you don't mind my asking - do you get the silk to do it with and what kind of dye. I've used seta colors and pro-con dyes to dye cloth - and painted on it with acrylics but those colors -and silk - oh they are just so delicious. And your work is lovely!
Thanks so much! Cat
PS I hope it wasn't inappropiate to ask questions and ...
PPS I found you through Spirit Cloth.
