Open day at Dogdaisy

I had to rush to get these and 15 of the ones in the previous posts off to Fibre+Clay before the Bank Holiday.
So I thought you might like a tour of the post hurry premises.

This is the production floor.
Please note very strong adherence to H&S advice.
The risk of cutting the phone cord has been assessed and is managed.

Here we have the packaging department which doubles as the ironing board.

And next, the office.
Or 'Admin'.
As the Chief execs laptop is bust, and the big fat printer won't take big fat card, she had to carry the old old printer upstairs and attch it to the office mainframe.
(oops the choccy buttons packet is vey old)

Next we have the labelling department.
The ink in the old old printer wouldn't dry for some reason so she had to use the warm air fan. (Hairdryer)

But she managed to get the the brooches made, labelled and packed and posted.

All 20 of them.

These were the last 5

made last night during the 'big debate' (good old Gordon)

and snipped/trimmed today during the meeting of Embroidery 2000.

Now the office cleaner must come and do her stuff.

Where's me overalls?

I find that doing what it takes to get your work into shops and shows is infinitely more work than making the art and something that I'm much less organized with. How nice it would be to have an instant employee to take care of those kinds of details!

I did laugh! How can you be so funny as well as so clever and creative in making your lovely brooches?! Hope the cleaner turned up and did her stuff before the factory closed for the holidays?

I love this post Jackie - I work in 'organised chaos' too, and it does work! The leaf brooches keep getting better - my favourite is the one on the right in your last photo.

Great brooches. The only thing you didn't show us what the production line for the products. So glad you are following all the H & S directives.

Your work is so beautiful and always packaged so well and stylishly that I never imagined that you would work in the same sort of chaos as I do! Love the colours in these last five brooches.

I like your confessional creative space! I have occasionally shown my mess. Truthfully, mine is never tidy!
Hope you join in the game again soon.

That's what I like Jackie a "one woman army"--then you know that the jobs will get done on time.
I love the last lot of brooches-the colours are wonderful.

Beautiful colours, love your production unit, much like my every day sewing mess!

Those brooches are absolutely gorgeous - I love the shapes. And it is reassuring to see that other people work in chaos too - I have to admit to totally messing up one room and then moving on to the next...

They're beautiful, all beautiful, even the weird ones, & from such adverity!

Beautiful colour choice as always.
We saw some highlights of the debate here in Canada. Gordon did well.

They are ALL gorgeous brooches, and I'm very pleased to see that behind the scenes at your place looks just as *tidy* as behind the scenes at my place! x

I like you system! It's similar to mine....but your art work is another story! So original, colorful, cheerful, retro but modern. I've been a fan for a while, but haven't visited in quite some time. I'm so glad I paid a visit today!
