Our planned weekend away has been cancelled and I have been given some extra time to complete my exhibition pieces.
So, yet another 'Midnight's all a Glimmer' for which the other two were trial runs.
But more exciting for me, and I don't want to sound smug or self satisfied, but here's "Peace comes dropping slow' and I have to say I am delighted with it. rather poor photograph in raking sunlight.

Each one is different and instead of using the holey felt I went back to the (despised in some quarters) blank white canvas and they just began to speak more clearly. I chose a grid pattern because it reminds me of Mid century fabric patterns, it pleases me.
How does that happen? I had no idea what the outcome would be when I started.
Below is my very favourite one.
Its almost too sunny at the moment to take decent pictures. I might try more later. In fact I'll bore the internet to death with them!

I love the inky intensity of "Midnight's..." but the subtle palette of "Peace..." appeals to me even more - perfectly set off by the clean white background.
"Midnight's ..." has to be my favourite as I prefer the freer form, but the Peace piece has beautifully subtle colours - I love enlarging the pictures and lookng at the details.
Such contrasting pieces Jackie, but both are beautiful. There is so much to enjoy in each piece from the tiny changes in detail to the subtle hints of colour in 'Peace'. Wonderful works. I'm sure you'll have plenty of offers for the holey felt.

I like both for different reasons as they are so very different. I do think that it was a good choice to use the white as the background for Peace though. You can almost feel them floating. I just want to breathe on them to make them drift - sad or what??

I seem to have missed a post Jackie...goodness knows how...I love the midnights...but they are my colours...and the peace...magical...I wore one of your broaches at the wool fest and got tons of lovely comments...hope we can meeet up soon..oh I love the birds on your stall they look wonderful...I love birds...
I rather like the shadows revealed by the raking sunlight - part of the life of the piece!
I just looked at your flicker photos. Altogether lovely my dear. I don't know how but it's beautiful to look at.
I love the shadows on the canvas - it works for me, sometimes a complicated background detracts from the focal pieces. You know what's best :) Hmm, but I also love the way you integrated the individual pieces on the darker work. I wouldn't say no to either hanging on my wall..
I think this expresses the feeling of 'peace comes dropping slow' in the poem rather beautifully. It makes me think of watching beautiful dandelion seeds floating around in a hazy sky on warm summer day. (probably to land amongst my nine bean rows, but never mind!).

Checked out your Marrakech trip--so exciting. Similar to Tunisia in many ways. Sometimes I have to look at Tunisia with "new" eyes...but it never ceases to please me. Visitors from the States just said "There's so much light!" The colors are so intense because of the light.

Wonderful work as usual Jackie and those shadows! Well what can one say?
I do love the holey felt but I think the plain white canvas was a good chioce as it allows the tiny subtleties of each individual piece to speak.
These are just so, so beautiful, and you're right, the clean white background sets the pieces off perfectly. I also adore the more fluid pieces - will definitely be putting this exhibition in my diary!
