Carol from Alcoholinky tagged me with an Obsessions tag.
As I am a pretty obsessive person I thought I'd do it.
I have to list 5 current obsessions and tag 5 more bloggers, but I thought I'd spread my obsessions through my next few posts instead of putting them all in one post.
I have to tag 5 more bloggers to do the same, so I'll do one at a time....the first one will be...Julia of junorth. She has a lovely piece of work on her embellisher at the moment.
Now Obsession number one.
Colour.
As illustrated by the extreme enjoyment of the following juxtapositions.
I think I know how Anthony Gormley felt.
I am creating my very own Field
(He had other people to make his.)
How many colour possibilities are there?
Four?
Six?
Twelve?
twenty four?
Fifty four?
No.
I have many more ideas of colour combinations for centres, backgrounds, stitches, but at some point I have to make these into brooches.
This is the first step of 'being prepared for Christmas'.
I need elves.

Wow !!!!!!!!!! You are amaazing Jackie!
I am always thrilled when Google Reader tells me that you have a new post... I rush straight to it. Fab brooches Jackie, I am so impressed with your getting-readiness :-)
These make me so happy! Thank you for sharing.
I'd say that's a colourfully healthy obsession!! That's got nothing to do with the fact that I'm a sewer, love free sewing and maybe a little obsessive myself in some things........really.......no really! ;-D
Love those brooches btw.
Beautiful!! I am most definitely an elf, but am currently up to my little pointed ears in my own Christmas work!! But, I shall be thinking of you!!
Jackie? If you find those Christmas helper-elves would you please send some my way? My #2 son just nicely reminded me on the weekend that Christmas was only ** months away and that hadn't I said that last year I had most of my gifts made already? ARGH...this year I don't have anything started!!
There's not a box of candy in the world that could be more beautiful. All of those luscious combinations. Wonderful!!
I'm glad you share your obsession of color with us all. The collection is amazing!!!!
Very cool colors Jackie! And I like the series of more and more and more!
And besides....I wish I was that productive!
Always enjoy your posts.
Thank goodness for your obsessions, so we can all appreciate the results of them and be inspired!

Fabulous! Bring on the next one.... :O) x
Making that number of brooches is an obsession! I'm very impressed. Lovely colours by the way.
I had the same tag and havent got round to it...I think top of my list would be wool then cake! I love the shapes like little stars...lovely...posted the tweed last night...love H
That final picture is just delicious. The colours are joyful Jackie. Keep obsessing - it makes us happy x
What a glorious array of colour your 'almost' brooches make. It would be so hard to choose which one to have from such a beautiful collection. Nothing wrong with an obsession like that!
A field of loveliness!!

You know Jackie, the 'brooches' all attached at their touching points would make a fantastic wall hanging, a sumptuous, velvety, delicious, textural delight.
Thanks for the tag Jackie (I think!) and you comment on my blog. As a new blogger I'm still getting over the fact that I have some followers! Your work is wonderful - keep being obsessive!
The brooches look gorgeous all together - let me know if you find any elves as I need some over here!
Great post! How wonderful to see those pieces all arranged like that, love it... more delectable then a big box of chocolates. So happy that you are a color obsessed person.
scrummy, scrummy, yummy, they look like sweets
I love obsessions that have a positive result, like being ready for Christmas :-) Gorgeous colours and luscious velvet!
How absolutely gorgeous and how wonderful to be so organised for Christmas!! that is preparation, not obsession. cheers, Robin

I've just posted a Discussion Topic, at my Facebook Fan Page, regarding the creative process ... part of it is about machine sewing vs. hand sewing ... of course, your gorgeous machine work is tremendously inspiring and I wanted you to know that I mention you specifically. Here it is, in case you want to go look: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?topic=9804&uid=90675619189#/topic.php?uid=90675619189&topic=9804
xo,
Morna
If you find well trained elves please send them this way!
That's a lovely field, the brooches look wonderful together like that, all so pretty. Bye for now. Lesley
Wow! what a wonderful array of colours. If this is being obsessive I'd like a little bit of it.
Sandie at Rag Rescue
What a glorious sight - truly scrumptious!!
(But you mentioned the 'C' word ....oh no!!!

You haven't quite got the barn setting.....but if you think of a large box then you have the barn. Think I would prefer your colours anyway.
Think he might be a bit overated.....oh, now the comments I will get for saying that!
I'm last on here again aren't I?
Definitely scrumptious! I love how the pointy star ones look like the orders and decorations that the royals wear on those sashes. I do wish I could be as focused as you are, Jackie! You're one of my embroidery heroines, you know!
STUNNING....absolutely fabulous
