Autumn Twilight arrived.
September Night followed.
I made vague leafy shapes and machine stitched them, adding details by hand later. It took me ages to do the one above.
Suddenly I needed two pieces to enter for an open exhibition, so decided to finish the other one off..which I did in a day!
That presents a problem...I haven't got to know it yet..I didn't want to let it go! It turned out better than the first one I think. I must be Bloomsbury Inspired!
Just for a change I thought I'd put them in frames. They are a bit squashed but more sellable.
I still don't really like textiles behind glass though.
More difficult to photograph and to look at.
The frames ar about a foot square.
Did you spot the mistake?
Or should I say , 'Indecision?' Autumn Twilight ...which way up?
In the first picture its got the grey leaf at the top right.
I liked it better in the frame with the leaf at the bottom.

Both lovely pieces. I am sure they will sell. I like the leaf at the bottom, it gives the feel that it is falling.
They are lovely. well done. (my favourite is the one with the green leaf in the bottom left corner.
Great you're using your felted pieces again! (should start myself with my felt / fabrics again ... sigh...)
When I see them next to each other, I like the first (difficult-in-the-make) piece best: it's more an unity (...if I express myself right ...) In the "night" piece the black is catching the eye a bit too much ( ...uuhm that's what I see ... and that's positive feed-back !!!)
Two beautiful pieces Jackie. I like 'Twilight' with the leaf at the bottom, and I love the little fat velvety jewel-like features in the 'Night' piece. Like you, I don't like textiles behind glass but the paying customers do.
I love these, the colours and the textures from the stitching - but I agree about the glass. Would it be possible to use frames with the glass taken out?
They are wonderful. I want to touch them.

Beautiful as always. I'm with the others and like the leaf at the bottom as if it has just fallen. I am sure those two will sell and love them in the simple frames.

Ooh heck, I am going to go against the flow and whisper that I liked it the other way. Beautiful work, just beautiful. I quite agree about glass, though.
Jackie...I can't begin to tell you how much I love, adore, appreciate, desire, want, want, want these pieces.

Dear Olwyn in France: they are in an exhibition at the moment but I think I will make more for my shop!
Ooh these are lovely, they look rich and glowing :) They've also reminded me I miss felting, I must have a go at some more soon!
I agree, textiles under glass always look a little sad, but when they aren't under glass people always worry about how to hang them!
Nice, very nice! I absolutely agree with you about the glass, but the uninitiated seem to expect it!
Very lovely Jackie. I do know what you mean about work being 'squashed' behind glass, but it does keep the dust off and the moths out! (always a worry for me)

They look good in the frames Jackie and like you say, very saleable
Gorgeous colours, would they survive as cushions? A few would look fab scattered on a sofa.
Fabulous leaves and the frames enhance them - the glass issue is difficult.

Such beautiful work. I could just sit and stare at them for hours. I love fabric behind glass. Most of us just want to touch them because we can't help ourselves, so better to be safe.
Whichever way they hang, they're beautiful. I hope that whoever buys will take them both because I think they deserve to be kept together.
I wouldn't want to part with them either, they are both so beautiful and work well as a pair. I'm sure they will be loved and cherished, whatever home they go to.
Love them in the frames too, but I know what you mean about glass.

I do love the leaf designs, perfect for the Autumn, jewel hued & sumptuous. It does seem a shame for them to be behind glass as they are so tactile, but then it helps preserve them to ;-)

Love both the pieces - they are beautiful (but agree with you about preferring them without glass - can they be mounted in the boxes without glass?).
