Resolved.

Well thank you everyone for your sensitive comments on my moaning. This is the opposite of that post as most of the issues have been resolved.
Of course you all realise that I realise that my 'problems' are very trivial . I know many people have a lot worse to contend with but it was just the trivial things that got me down that day.
Anyway...my next door neighbours heard we had a broken TV and came up with this for as long as we need it.

The gap in the woodburner has been fixed by means of a temporary filling of fire cement.

We have wood..inside,

and outside.

and in the logstore.

Once we had a stool from IKEA that broke and this was in the log basket just about to go in the fire when I put two and two together...

and its perfect for our emergency tree.Just needs covering.

I say emergency because it is teeny....and was lying on the floor at our local Christmas tree yard amongst overpriced and ugly trees so I bought it in case we couldn't get anything else, for three pounds!

By the middle of the week there will be a proper one in this space, but at the moment its in Mid Wales.

We never get a tree until the last possible moment but it backfired on us a bit this year .
We went on a tree hunt on Saturday in driving snow and the only one I liked was £45!!
I asked if that was a festive joke and they said no.
So we left it.
My husband is at a Welsh Castle and has just phoned to tell me he got one for £10. Not as big as we would have wanted but OK.
I had two lovely handmade cards in the post this week.
One from Viv at Hens Teeth and one from Carolyn at Love Stitching Red
Thank you both . I love them.
I am ashamed to say I haven't made any cards this year and the ones I bought were horrible, and I haven't sent any to blog friends .

Please accept my apologies and know that you are all very important to me . You have supported me through thick and thin this year and its means a lot.

I am more disorganised this year than ever before.
The low point of my week was being asked 'What happened to you on Wednesday?'
I had completely forgotten that I was First reader at the Carol Service.
I didn't even go in the end because my son came.
Fortunately someone stepped in who was well able to do it.
I feel terrible. The only excuse I can offer is that I got the reading the previous Sunday at Church and then we went straight to London for our friends funeral so it just went right out of my head.
I would have really loved it too.
I hope they ask me again and don't have me down as 'unreliable'.

Oh I didn't mention the washing machine...well I don't care about that.

I almost forgot..look what else came in the post.

Do you think thats the egg cup? A picture?
Well I never.

UPDATE:I was trying to jam too many lights on the worlds smallest tree when the postman came and VOILA!

Guess what I'm having for lunch?

I am sooooo pleased to be the first to comment on this. Lovely to see you more "up". Am sitting wondering if your other half is at Castle Coch? Lucky him if he is. Good too see you have telly, logs etc, but cannot believe that THAT piece of paper is all you have from Dorset Cereals after all the jokes about the egg cup!

We finally got our snow overnight, so the world is quiet and really rather beautiful ...... Hope it doesnt make travel home difficult for your husband. Have a lovely Christmas Jackie and I wish you a better year next year.

Glad to hear that things have started looking up and that you can be innovative with IKEA! You are going to have difficulty dipping your soldiers into any egg in that cup. Have a lovely Christmas and lots of good luck next year.

Glad you have most things sorted - at least you'll be snug and warm. That's a dear little tree, and how swanky to maybe have two! I'm sure you'll be forgiven for forgetting the Carol Service - you did have so much else to do at the time and having your son's company is very important. Congrats. on getting your eggcup - it's lovely - things are on the up again for you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I'm so happy to read that things are better for you! And I'm also glad to see that the famed egg cup actually IS real! As for the wee tree - I love it!! Just think, you saved it from possibly being thrown out and now it's a happy little tree in a great home and spreading Christmas cheer to you. Gotta be happy about that!

I think you should keep the little tree. Do you about Charles Schultz and Charlie Brown in England?

One day you will remember 'EggCup Day' as the first step to your domination of Blogland. There will be compulsory eating of boiled eggs and each little eggcup cosy will have an embroidered picture of Jackie, Queen of the Blogs. I have seen the future.

glad you are feeling a bit more upbeat and you feel snug and warm - trees always look great - we always overload ours with lights and balls but I just love them like that - take care

Did you enjoy your egg-y lunch? ....or was that Humble Pie, for thinking that you only got a piece of paper for the prize!!?? hahaha. A sweet little thing though.
Have loved reading these last two posts. Made me smile, and I can do with some of that. Have been finding it hard to get into the "act" of blogging lately so haven't been leaving much in the way of comments. Feeling that lowness a bit myself lately. Hope I can find my way out the murk soon! Sorry, my turn to moan. lol.
Glad things are happier for you Jackie. Have yourself a wonderful and merry-ish Christmas won't you? x
