A Long Time...

Well I'm flummoxed and a little sad. Technology has moved on and Blogger is slowly fading away. As I opened this up to write a new post I had a complicated message which seemed to boil down to the fact that google and blogger are no longer connected and I won't see comments any more.
This all quite depressing as I see the day when blogger will disappear and I'll lose all my posts which I view as my journal of the last 10+ years.
If anyone knows how I can avoid this I'd like to know but of course if your comments aren't showing how do I see them. Please try anyway.

Well..I've been away a very long time..end of Summer was my last post! Then I had a bad cold and then at the end of October my 91 year old Mum fell and broke her humerus and had to come and stay with me for 7 weeks as it turned out. Then it was the Christmas rush so I'm afraid my blog took a back seat.

I'm back now and we've just got back from out 10th visit to County Clare so my photos will be somewhat similar to those you've seen before! Here goes then..
Ive read some good books..

My Mum had her 91st

 then broke her shoulder.

 Christmas came and went

I dyed some yummy velvet and got going again with brooches.
I started a busy busy piece.

Found some extremely large and teeny shells on a beach in Ireland

 came home again.

made a yummy choccy cake for my son's GFs birthday today.

And guess who ate the leftover decorations?
You're correct.
Please comment if you can then I know how its all working.

I remember reading on one of the blogs how to back up blogger to your computer so that you can save it all. I'll try and find the link if you think it would be useful

Welcome back - I've missed you! So sorry you Mom went through those issues and hope she'd doing better now. I think the issues with blog-grrr that are happening soon have to do with those who use Google+ and not the regular Google. I think.

Hi - It's Google+ that is shutting down so if comments were made on your blog with Google+ they'll have disappeared but that's it. I don't think anything happening otherwise with blogger. I too love my blog as a diary of my creative journey. Wishing you good things for the rest of 2019

PS I have noticed I no longer get notified of any blog comments via my email so you have to go onto blogger comments or your blog to see them

Welcome back. It is incredible how life can take over our blogging isn't it. I have become a very sporadic blogger myself. I am quite content but not doing anything of great interest to anyone else, hence the long break.
Good to see your Mum looking so good after her accidents.
Love all the photos and am able to leave a comment so I do hope you will be able to see it.

Great to hear from you again! I hope this comment will go through - I have just tried, and failed to comment on another Blogger blog.

I got fed up with Blogger a long time ago and switched to Wordpress. There was a learning curve, but now I find it much easier to use than Blogger had become.

So glad to read a blog from you again and see the lovely photos. I am usually, but not always, able to post a comment but if you reply I do not get a notification - I need to keep looking up the blogger's post to check! Blogger is a pain sometimes, bring back the old days!
Love the hearts and the other felt piece, I still miss it. XX

Always enjoy your lovely varied posts! It's getting harder to continue with blogs, isn't it... I can only follow blogs on my laptop now,as Bloglovin doesn't work on my new tablet and I haven't found a replacement that'll import my list of blogs. Many blogs now are part of owners' websites, not on blogger etc., and Bloglovin won't follow those anyway. As for me, I think I may have given up blogging... it was for sharing not my own record, but I never got your sort of following and it doesn't seem worthwhile any more. Especially with problems getting comments. And so we go, reduced to snippets on FB or Insta now!

Family comes first! Glad to see you are back posting. Love your work. Been following for a number of years but don't always leave comments. Should but time takes over.

Commenting and hoping you can read it! Lovely to see a blog post from you. I’m also finding it harder to post on a regular basis... it’s all changing!

Lovely to see your post. I've been so tardy myself at blogging but I miss the community so I'm making an attempt (soon) to start blogging again. I have in the past managed to download my entire blog as a backup but you'd have to google it as I can't remember exactly what to do. It's worth it though... 10years is a fair chunk of memories!!
All the best
Helen

eMail your blog to yourself, then print the email to a file in .pdf format. That's what I do, at least. Hope this helps!
