Sublime and ridiculous

The wind is having a fun time here. The garden chairs are blowing past the window.
I braved the woods with the dog we are minding for the week, and found this a little bunch of twigs joined at the base. I knew what I had to do.
I picked three bluebells, a buttercup, some red campion and a bit of cow parsley and wove a wreath.
  I just had to.

(And wouldn't you just know that as I walked up the road with an albeit miniscule  bunch of illicit wild flowers, I bumped into someone who is a bit of an environmentalist, who I saw last time 6 months ago when I was carrying a big bunch of holly. I haven't picked anything else from the woods in the last twelve months. She must think I do it all the time)

I hung it in different places around the house. I like this one.

So pretty.

 Not so sure about this.
My husband arrived and I stuck it on my head and asked him to take a picture.
(Don't forget I'd been a walk in the windy wild woods and I am staring 60 in the face)
He was having a real chuckle as he clicked.

This is why.

Beam me up Scottie.

You're adorable in your wreath and hardly look like you would be approaching 60! That last shot made me laugh.

lololol!!!! Too funny Jackie and you're just too cute in your gorgeous little wreath. How clever are you? Don't think I'd have thought to do that myself. But now I'll be on the lookout for things I can create with, on any of my walks! It will probably drive me batty trying to find things!!! Thanks for that! :)))))) xoxo

So treu that just the time you pick one wild thing, you run into the nature police! Still, entirely worth risking for that fabulous wreath!
Your 2nd photo has me laughing out loud! and what sharp eyes your husband has....I never notice these things in the photo till it's already published! So nice to see your smiling face - just what I expected from your sweet nature!

Too Funny! You gave me a much needed giggle today. I love your wreath. You have inspired me to make one. Any tips? I live in the Pacific Northwest.

I really did laugh out loud! ha ha, thanks for that. You may be staring 60 in the face but I can still see the young girl in you. Just think, Bob Dylan just turned 70! Can you believe it?

I love your little wreath, thanks for sharing and thank you for the laugh.

Your twig wreath is lovely Jackie and looks as good on you as it does on the wall. I'm sure the wood wouldn't begrudge you a few wild flowers. The wind has died down here - hope it has for you too.

Fantastic Jackie :-) I'm having a good chuckle here at your DH's great shot. Illicit or not your wreath is so lovely. When I was young we used to pick armfuls of bluebells. That's probably why we can't pick them now. ;-)

Oh, you ARE funny. I loved the last picture. The wreath is perfect, inspiration hits when we least expect it. I've been following your blog and your creations for a while now and I must say your art/craft is so very beautiful my mouth waters. The colours, shapes, intricacies of the stitchwork are exquisite. Plese don't ever stop. The new ones ae a bit of a departure and quite interesting. Thanks for brightening my day.

Your wreath is just exquisite. What could be more beautiful? Who is that woodland sprite modelling it?

Jackie - I have seen your work in Quilting Arts Magazine and their e-book. Tonight I went to your blog and went through as many flicker photos as I could drinking in every luscious broch and embroidery design. I just wanted to tell you how amazing I think your work is! I remember finding a book by Deborah Gonet back in 2000 or 2001 called "Contemporary Machine Embroidery" and her beautiful work on silk and velvet captivated me and her book is one I will never give away. But, after seeing your work, by far your designs and felting have forever inspired me. Thank you! www.scrapwisdomcollage.blogspot.com
