Just in time to get a blog post in January.
To be honest I haven't been myself and not inspired at all until recently.
But I had requests from a couple of galleries and shops and it gave me the kick up the backside I needed to get on with stitching.
So without further ado here are the things I've made.
Just lots of pictures of brooches and now winging their way to different points in the United Kingdom.
Thank goodness for the therapy of stitch, colour, felt and blogging.
Happy (not so) New Year.

Glorious! The colours just sing.
these are quite gorgeous and magical. pieces to be treasured!
Your work is just amazing. I love the colors. You're an amazing artist.
These are simply gorgeous. I find your work very inspiring.
I think creative types are quite prone to bouts of "not feeling themselves". I found this an interesting read: http://www.benlocker.org.uk/how-love-stopped-my-depression-from-becoming-suicide/. Not necessarily for the suicide bit, but for how the fog creeps upon us, how it leaves us feeling and how important it is to try to find a way to remedy it.
(I hope I haven't overstepped my inter boundaries here, but having just read this post it struck me as something to share).
Gosh Jacky, that must have been some kick up the backside - your brooches are absolutely gorgeous as usual and there are so many of them! Belated Happy New Year to you too. Cheers
If that's what comes of a mental kick up the backside...wow!! So glad you are back to creating and hope all is improving for you. Hugs!
Each one is beautiful and unique. I love the lavender colours in the third photo. It's a 'funny' time of year but I hope you perk up soon and are feeling the benefit of your kick up the backside. We have enjoyed the visual benefit.
Ooh, a lovely selection of colours used.
Very pretty and gorgeous colours Jackie. Hope February is better for you. X
Your brooches are gorgeous! You have such a good eye for colour and form, and your stitchy skills! I really enjoy seeing your work. I hope you feel better soon.
Love, love, love those colors, textures and shapes. Thank you for sharing the photos.
Love the shapes, and the color combos! OOOOOOOOOOO the blue and orange, yummy. Then there is the orange and green, yummy X2.

You made so many wonderful colour combimations again !

I have just found you... What unique pieces of beauty,
You clever old thing! Thank you very much for sharing... Jay
What a beautiful blog post, your broaches are amazing, the colours just pop, and I love the shapes and sumptuous look, they have a Tudor feel for me.
I'm glad you've got your mojo back, and what a way to get it with people wanting your work.
I always reckon that you can say Happy New Year at least until the middle of February..
You've made some lovely pieces there - really glorious colours.
Lovely to see all the beautiful brooches. The colours are gorgeous.
Gorgeous bits of loveliness! Well done you!
If you do decide to offer an online course on Celtic knotwork, I'd love to participate!
Ooh, yummy scrummy!
Thanks Gill. Thanks everyone.
Hi Jackie, I've just seen your beautiful richly coloured Celtic knotwork piece on your facebook page and would LOVE to follow a tutorial....(I don't have a f.b. a/c) I was inspired by your earlier atmospheric depiction of gravestones in Ireland and was hoping to hand embroider a small picture in similar style. However I have Bain's Celtic Art book and fancy a real challenge so please 'bring it on' as they say.
V.E. Wales..thank you. I am just waiting to get connected to superfast broadband and I will start the tutorial. Probably mid March. I'll advertise it on here and FB.
Gosh, nice work- glad you got the arse kick you needed!xx
Очень красиво! Супер!!!
