The attempt at reality in the last post has given way to a bit of fantasy stitching.
Its 'elements of fishiness' rather than fish.
I did it late last night and am quite excited about it but on the other hand wonder if it works?
I once did a big piece with these elements all in one piece but for this I will make separate elements as in the past.
I like the colours,
I like the textures,
and I enjoy the fantasy.
But will anyone else?
So I decided to get a bit of a scientific perspective by googling some sea creatures.
Now I don't want to go into the water.

I think these are rather intriguing...
And I know what you mean - after some nature programmes I get very jumpy about going out into the wild!
Full of fishiness. Lovely movement and colours.
We were just having a conversation at the office about the water. Seems a great many folks are not interested in being in it because of the creatures there. Never crosses my mind, I love the ocean and everything about it. These pieces are beyond gorgeous. They do remind me a bit of fishes... the colors and textures are great. So, so pretty!
Some of these remind me of fairy wings, perhaps you could try some fairy wings? I think they would be really nice.
These are lovely. I think a seahorse would look great.
Wonderful direction! One of the great joys of your blog is watching your creative development...always the unexpected!
I'm not sure how big they are but I love them and if they are the right size they would make gorgeous brooches.
I think they are lovely! Love the colours and the fantastical fishy elements definitely work for me :)

Stay out of the water by all means but keep making these lovely fishy things. The colours are gorgeous and the textures are wonderful.
The fantasy fish are great, the silver colour is just right, the additional colours add so much interest. I would be very surprised if these don't sell as well as your leaves :)
Angel wings would be fab, I would join a queue for one of those...
I notice the fishy elements right away, but it's not a known species. Must be some from the depths that have not been identified yet. Love the texture, and the spark of color.
Try a few at the next show, and see how they go. There are lots of fisherwomen out there.
Hugs,
Oh I think people will like them, quite a lot. They truly are aquatic pieces. They remind me of beneath the surface life in Loch Fyne.

Go with it - I love the colours and the sea creature theme!
Wonderful shapes and colours. I'm a swimming pool girl myself:-)
I love the colours and the 'abstracty'look of these!
Fabulous, I love the quirky look of your sea creatures, and the colours are perfect. I'm a real baby when it comes to going in the sea, so much so that my DH wanted to buy me a wet suit!
They work for me, fabulous as always :-)

I think you nailed it. They look fishy in shape and color. The different textures give it the feel of scaly iridescence.
There is no possible way I would stick any part of my anatomy in an ocean - for one thing, I can't swim, and for another I once saw an overhead shot of sharks patrolling JUST outside an area where people were swimming. Nope, not for moi!! I'm quite happy to admire your fishies, thank you.
YES!!! these are fabulous - keep going... i'd buy one, for sure!
These are magical, Jackie!
Perfectly gorgeous Jackie! You're just so clever and talented! They're almost fantasy pieces, if you know what I'm meaning?! Beautiful. ♥
