Miniatures

Not many words needed. These are what it says on the tin.
 Little extracts from larger pieces, or should I say abstracts? Some of the areas I like from the larger pieces reworked as small squares.
About 4 inches square. SOLD.

 I love this bit where the silk fibres have spread over the wool felt, and make a sort of marble effect.
I think they look nice in a row.

Another little miniature that came into our house yesterday. 
Involuntarily. 
Jools our badboy cat was feeling bored with the expensive food we'd spread before him so went out out for a snack. He doesn't have many teeth so the snack escaped, besides he wasn't that hungry.
I caught him under a glass. The only damage was a wet back from the cat gums.

Sweet. Enormous eyes.
And now free.

    These little pieces are wonderful. Do I spy an oak leaf though? Do I? It's not that season yet is it?

    As in "free to a good home"? :O)))))) We always refer to this kind of cat behaviour as "Going out for a takeaway!".

    as i said on Flickr, sumptuous night mystery, these wonderful gems.

    all our cats have teeth, lots of teeth...Greyman however has been known to rescue and drive to a field a few blocks away for release!

    I love these miniatures Jackie - they are beautiful and could be displayed either singly or 2,3 or 4 together in box frames.
    I like mice but am not prepared to share my home with them. Glad you were able to rescue the little chap and that a good sucking was all he had to endure.

    Gorgeous miniatures - wondrous colours and shapes, and I really like them grouped together. Maybe you should make a piece like that? Poor little mouse chap - glad to know that you saved him; we generally get them when they're beyond help ....

    Lucy has no teeth and when she brings a friend into play they often escape behind something and I have to spend hours trying to catch it! Glad that little fella was freed!

    I love those little pieces, either singly or all together! I couldn't have a mouse near my house though. I have been catchiing up on your previous post and I am absolutely in awe of the Egyptian tentmakers' quilts. What a privelege to see them. Cheers

    Hi again Jackie. Yes I did visit Katie but I didn't realise that's where you had sent work to. I remembered reading your blog post about your visit and knew you had work somewhere but couldn't remember where. If I'd known I'd have made more of an effort to speak to her. She was very busy and the little car park outside was jam packed. I left my husband and children in the car so didn't get very long there.
    At first I found getting a hold of some tweed like finding hens teeth! but the shed at Tarbert was wonderful. I'm not planning on using loads of it in my work so little bits were good for me. I just love how it reflects the colours of the landscape. In fact there was an excellent exhibition on in Stornoway all about that very subject but more about that in another post : )

    I had to laugh at the tiny sweet mouse. Years ago when we first bought our old house and before we moved into it, we stored a chest of drawers there. One day I opened a drawer to spy a mama mouse and eight wee mousekins. I scooped her and the babies up into a brown paper bag and deposited them at the edge of the woods. Then I felt guilty about it and scooped them up again and took them right back into the house. My husband declared I had lost my mind. It didn't matter to me that they lived in the house until we took possession. I like to believe they were considerate enough to move on once we moved in, foolish one that I am.

    Loved today's post and the little miniatures.
