Today I have mostly been making...
more of the same.
Except....
....that they are not the same.
Please ignore the holey pre used canvas.
Instead apply your thinking cap...
My original plan was to place a whole lot of these shapes on a background, but these, being longer and thinner and altogether more elegant, do not look right with the others.
Now I'm wondering if I should make the previous, rounder, and more leaf -like shapes into brooches.
But what then should I do with these?
I have a whole other set sitting on canvases in my ETSY shop doing nothing.
And now I have piles of these.
Piles of them.
Mmmmmmm!
and Mmmmm?
Don't forget to tell everyone about the Handwriting next week.

Glad to see I'm not the only one dithering.
just lovely! you do such beautiful work, quite talented you are!
I think you should send them to me !!! ...he he ....Lorna x
Jackie, these would look amazing as belt buckles. Then there's neckpieces or what about applique one or two to a scarf, on the edge?
Hat pins? Hair slides or hair pieces? They are too amazing to languish in the shop uncherished and without being appreciated.
I hate it when stuff, really good stuff languishes at Etsy. I've all but abandoned my shop lately myself.
These are so good as elements or in themselves.
Dither on!~

Could you fasten these onto an artists canvas - perhaps in threes if they are too large to be brooches. Or maybe they could decorate a bag or book cover, but that would mean you'd have to make a bag or a book cover!
Whatever you decide they are rather lovely!
They are beautiful in their own right but the photograph of the three together has me thinking of a wall hanging with them joined but no background.
I agree with Karen there are so many uses for your decorative art.
Beautiful colours.x
I'm with Karen: how's about hair slides.......? I don't know how big these are, but if they are large, they would be lovely used at the back of a head to clip swept up hair............
I think you could use a lot of these to make the main structure of a laced corset style bodice (as in medieval style), they would look really lovely backed by black velvet and the laces in metalic green/blue. I would wear it!
Make them all into brooches. They're lovely.
I was thinking 3, too, either horizontally, or, my preference, vertically, in a narrow panel, with similar colors both sides, either darker than the motifs... or lighter. Well, you did ask & what a lot of fabulous ideas! (aren't you lucky!) :)
I think you need a tree. A nice wire form tree, and all these would dangle on it like magical leaves.
I do love your stuff. Also, add me on for the Handwriting thingy.
Dithering is good, especially when it means we get to see such pretty eye candy! If these don't 'marry' with the others, how about making TWO pieces from them?
I think that they would make such an amazing statement as a wall hanging all tacked together with tiny stitches with no background- so light would move thru them. It would look like a hanging fluid sea curtain- what an amazing curtain it would be- similar to your Byzantium pieces but with no fill between each piece. If you randomly mix all shapes and sizes It would be even more fabulous.
But I do want to purchase a brooch or two........
Have no fear of dithering! If this is your dithering what does your production look like????? YIKES!!!
Hugs!!!
Soggibottom, just passing by and wondering how you are :-)
Hope you are still walking ? x
I think I'd like to see them hanging too. I was thinking a very grown up mobile affair? I love the hair accessorie idea as well. I am intrigued by the handwriting plan- I must see if I can work out how to use the scanner! xx
Your's works are beautiful!!!
When I discover you, I must see this blog again and again...
..could you make them into cuffs?
...with lovely little round buttons to close them?....
I also like the idea of henging them from branches....
...maybe with little bells on so they tinckle when they move....
Sempre più belle! Bravisssssima!
Bacio Lulù
... arranging them as the individual plumes of a (large) undulating feather in a wallhanging format ...?? they're fabulous!
They would make beautiful brooches, or hair slides.
I do like the idea of tiny bells that some one commented on.
The colours are beautiful.
Oh an can you count me into the handwriting wednesday.
I just love them!
Dotxx
I like them exactly as they are -- like chips of beauty to be collected in a bowl (which makes me think of putting a word on the reverse side, so one could choose-one-a-day, like a Tarot card or rune...)
But more, like Elizabeth, I like the idea of them strung together loosely and hung in a window... partly because they have the richness of stained glass and also because you could see connections/relationships between the various pieces...
love your work!
Well, if only I could "dither" half as well as you! Those colours are gorgeous and I love the shapes and doodly-ness. Perfect.
just read your Wingham piece it's really good and your pictures look amazing.
Oh, these are very beautiful... like little paisley designs in fabric's I love... roxanne
