Happy Easter

Whatever your beliefs........

have a great weekend!

(I did the first banner of my own accord for our church a long time ago.
Then we got a new priest and he asked me to do the 'Risen Christ' banner. It took me about 100 hours. There are some things I don't like about it...creases in the face, slightly Disney look about the eyes, but on the whole its been well liked .
The bottom church banner was done for the 25th Anniversary of Liverpool Catholic Cathedral, when all the churches in the Liverpool Diocese took their banners to the Cathedral for a celebration which was filmed for 'Songs of Praise' over 16 years ago)

  2. I think they are both excellent - I have been struggling with faces and am just not the artist you are. The daffodils are wonderful and the textured areas fabulous. Hope you are having a great weekend.

  8. May the Bunny visit with lots of goodies...healthy goodies that is!

Banners are lovely. Being our best critic helps us grow...but don't just focus on what you don't like. The details and composition sing.

  11. Lovely work Jackie - the daffodils are fabulous. Are you fairly near Liverpool? I lived in Woolton until I went away to college.

Hope you cracked open one of those brownish eggs today

  13. I love the Christ banner. so Medieval/Byzantine, but with hints of Klimt, etc. I think it is wonderful that your artistic work can inspire the spirituality of others.

  22. Hi Jackie, I love the 'Alleluia' banner, and the 'Risen Christ' banner has always been special to me. You made the 'Risen Christ' the year my mom passed away and you put her name inside the weaving, remember? You do awesome work!

  25. Fantastic works. Thanks for the comment. Maybe you are right. I just think it's because I was thinking that he wasn't here to share it with me. I'm not sure how I will react when the anniversary comes up. One day at a time I guess.
