Hellos and hugs.

Life has been a bit hectic lately.
Two posts today. this one and one about our Symi trip which is here if you'd like to read it.
If it isn't enough to have made almost 100 brooches and lots of small pieces of embroidery, any show or exhibition also requires a lot of preparation and, I suppose, logistics. Turning a sheep pen into an exhibition required copious amounts of calico and hard thinking about design.
Anyway we won't go into details but here is my stand just before kick off on Saturday morning.

Now I have a garden, I could take a little bunch of flowers to prettify my stand.

I had THE BEST weekend. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it. I sold loads and loads of stuff but thats not why I enjoyed it. The reason I really enjoyed it was the visitors. I felt like a star when people who know this blog, or had seen my facebook page introduced themselves to me, told me how much they liked my work, and were generally delightful.

I don't want to name names because I might leave someone out, I have to admit that it was a a bit of a  whirlwind of hellos and hugs, and I saw so many old friends, some I knew were going to be there and some that were a surprise. I was given gifts too. I felt so honoured.
Just because I can do  bit of sewing ...I was treated to this lovely experience.

I sold so many brooches, and here are two happy customers who were so well co-ordinated and their brooches fit right in.

The show itself was full of inspiration..this wool made me almost want to take up knitting.

So on Sunday morning it was slim pickings. That was not as much of a negative as you might think as I sold plenty of Harris Tweed brooches.

I had to take a picture of this lady in her lovely original 50s frock.

So a big thank you goes to the organisers at Yarndale. It was a terrific success for me and all the other exhibitors  were smiley and happy so I'm guessing it was the same for them.

But my goodness am I tired !!! It was worth every minute of the work and preparation.

Oh it was fab to finally meet you in 'real life' after all this time. You took me by surprise recognising me! :-)
I'm so glad (but not at all surprised) that you did so well and sold so much of your lovely stuff. I have no doubt you'll be welcomed back with open arms next year.
My Tweet is hanging up in his new home with his Liberty housemate. I will do an 'ethel and edna' Facebook post about him and my other purchases tomorrow.

What a wonderful time you had! I am so glad it was such a success, and that you met friends old and new, and managed to sell so many brooches! Your work is gorgeous, and so distinctive, and I'm not surprised that other bloggers reccognised it straight away. How lovely it must have been for them to have seen it "in the flesh" rather than just on the computer screen!

Your stand looks lovely, with everything displayed so nicely, and the beautiful flowers from your garden. Well done indeedy!

It was a lovely weekend Jackie and good to meet you at last. I'm not surprised you did so well your work and stand looked amazing, you must have been exhausted by the end of the weekend, it was such a busy event which is brilliant. Jacqueline and I are already making plans for next year hope to see you there!

So glad to hear it went well - those shows are exhausting whether or not they are financially successful, so it's good to know you made lots of sales as well as having a wonderful time!

So pleased for your successful and enjoyable weekend. You have earned it and made a very professional looking display by disguising your corner of the sheep pen so cleverly. It sounds like a great event.

Lovely to meet you on Sunday, even if only briefly. I would have liked to have stayed and chatted but you were obviously busy. Your stall looked really good and it was nice to see all you lovely work 'in the flesh'.

Lovely to meet you Jackie, your work was beautifully displayed on your stand. It was wonderful to see it in real life instead of online. It was lovely to chat with you about your work and our mini schnauzers! I'm glad the weekend was successful for you in all aspects. Yarndale was great, I had a really good day.

I have a question about your paintings-how are you mounting them to the canvas?
