Its a Plan

Sometimes when I'm working for Christmas sales my head gets all fuzzy from trying to think up new designs for each piece.
So I have a cunning plan.
I make the same basic design in lots of different colours.
I shall call this particular style 'Frond' and have made 20 in a selection of colours.
I still get the pleasure from the unexpected outcomes of one colour against another.
I particularly enjoyed the surprise of these yellows on the greeny grey felt.
Blues are always a delight to make too.

Now, these above are all brooches but would they make good pendants? And if so, which sort of necklace is best? Coloured memory wire,
or a dangly fine black faux leather?

I would have a very difficult time trying to choose from this amazing variety of colours. They do sing next to each other don't they? I think I would choose the dangly necklace, but both styles are attractive.

I have used the memory wire chokers with textile pendants and have been pleased with the results.
Good luck with the production of many textile delights and the fairs.

They are all lovely and certainly different ones will appeal to different folks as will either necklace. Personally I think I'd like the hanging one over the memory wire.

I'm not sure about using them for anything at all. I would just sit and look at them and drool. And then look at them some more. But that's just me. Gorgeous stuff!

I think both necklace styles work really well. I'd probably go for the dangly one, but I know girls who'd go for the memory wire!

Well, I've got a fat neck so the wire one wouldn't do for me!
How about a mix? Or if you are able to fit them easily, offer a choice? Just a thought or two!

The 'Fronds' are rather gorgeous and curvy...just like me LOL!
I always used to go for all things heathery or purple, now I seem to go for mossy/olive greens and mostly turquoise/aqua blue/greens.

Whatever, I think they will sell well!

Have fun creating!

really unusual. They would look lovely on a beaded necklace, like circular peyote or herringbone.

I think the dangly is best, not that I'm any expert on things necklace (and actually I've never heard of memory wire!) Are they going in the shop?

Oh, and I've just thought, they would look great on a choker.

I would love either and anyway, being a Libran, I would never be able to make my mind up which to choose. Your fronds are delightful in each colour range. x Jo

I think they look gorgious! I would prefer the long chain. Or you can make a chain of different colors like a rainbow. hugzz...peebee

Aaaaah really hard to choose from so many beauties!
(the oranges ...? or the greens ...? or the magenta's ..??? very hard .....!)

I really like the memory wire one, but maybe not everyone would, and a mixture of the two would be more saleable. And maybe you could have different colours of whatever you used to suit the (utterly gorgous!) leaves :)

The production line looks beautiful! I'd definitely choose the dangler - more versatile!

First time I am on your blog. I just love the colours and combination with velvet and thread. This is so inspirational. I have read you other posts as well. Thanks

What gorgeous 'fronds' and all those colours singing away together - I would have a very hard time choosing one over another - I want them ALL! I like pendants in preference to memory wire, but I agree with whoever it was who said you probably need to make a selection of both. I am sure they will all sell Jackie. Cheers

Jackie!!! These are all so luscious! I love the new frond design!! I love the faux leather look and wonder if you are including a necklace bail on the back along with the pin back. that way they could be worn as both a pin and a necklace!!!
Just a thought!! you do inspire me!!

Colours to die for. I like the pendant on the black faux leather but I am sure that there would be a demand for both versions.

Personally, I like the felt against the black leather, plus it would be softer on my neck. I like the pin idea that I read in one of the comments. Your work is gorgeous!!!!

I have a store that sells jewelry and we sell many more on the faux leather chains than we do the memory wire. If you already have both, I would offer the choice of either.

I don't suppose it's any help to you if I say I'm going to sit on the fence and say that some of each would be good? They're all so colourful and touchable and impossible to choose a favourite from!

I have just "discovered" your wonderfully beautiful art. Are you using felt and velvet? Do you die your own felts and velvet (looks like silk velvet) IF I lived across the pond, I would join your classes. Looks like fun. Do you have an online class for the felt/velvet/embroidery leaves, etc.?
Thank you for sharing pictures. Nark

Nark R I do dye most of my own silk velvet but not all. My online class is top right on my blog sidebar. If you click it will take you there.
