Reasons

What makes you post?

Is it when you know you have failed miserably at something?

Or when you are inspired by something beautiful.. And its only grass.

Or is it when you want to share something you really love?

This is part of a beautiful embroidery my brother brought all the way from India for me.Or is it when you sit at your sewing machine with all your favourite materials and all your favourite colours and produce something you really like?

I made this cuff from the edge of the last piece of this brick red -coloured silk.

I liked it so much that I just had to squeeze two more tiny purses out of the rest of it.

More cuffs in different silks, and a good feeling of being productive, made me want to post.

What makes you want to post?

Just for those people who asked after my last post..the man with the van came the next day and took my Laptop away in a pink crate, with a lot of other pink crates, and disappeared over the horizon.

I am waiting for news.

Oh mate *big hugs* How can you mess up nasturtiums? heehee Shove them in the border anyway and they'll survive. They love abuse and rubbish soil. (This from the least green-fingered person in the world :o)
The cuffs are just SOOOO gorgeous. I have been playing at toadstools and being much more creative - free machining and allsorts. You've inspired me to play a bit more.

i'm a crummy gardener too, so no worries. i'm so *loving* your cuffs J! in fact... i'm coveting the denim cuff with green (a few posts back, cuff pictured in the middle) - let's talk about how i can get my hot little hands on it :)

Jackie - your cuffs are truly beautiful

Jackie, your cuffs (and broochs) are beautiful - so vibrant! I planted nasturtiums a few years back and they were instantly covered with blackfly - never again...!!

In BC before my move, my garden was as beautiful as your cuffs...now that i'm in ALberta, it looks like your nasturtiums!!!
Maybe i should just make fake flowers for the pots :}

I love arty blogs and want to be part of it all. It's great being able to share and comment and receive feedback. Blogging also tends to feed other forms of creativity. It inspires me to be more creative.

Jackie - thank you for looking by my blog and your kind comments. Why have I not "discovered" you before? I love your work. Those cuffs are amazing - such rich vibrant colours. I will be back!

PS I'd forget about gardening and stick to the stitching!!!

I've only just found your blog, your work is fabulous, I'm a colour fanatic and you certainly know how to use it. I can almost smell the bluebells in your earlier post too. We grow them here in Oz, but they don't have the same beautiful perfume as they do back home (former home).

I post because it's always something tangible that I can show myself I have conceived, manifested and completed. Plus if I don't post on a regular basis people start calling on the phone to make sure I'm okay.

Wouldn't fret about the nasturtiums. It took me more than two decades of prolific and 'gifted" gardening before I was able to grow them successfully. Even then they paled compared to those grown by people who never have a problem with them.

Is your DIZZY friend making this comment ...

Love the cuffs, especially the colours - scrumptious. The orange ones are the colour the nasturtiums would have been!

Well done Jackie!
These cuffs are amazing! so colourful. Don't worry about the Nastutiums, just stick them straight in the garden next time. I always have trouble keeping things happy on the window sill.

What makes me post to my blog is usually the sheer need to communicate either enthusiasm and excitement about a project -- or --a need to break the creative isolation! Thanks for asking and letting us share --
